WHAT IS THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
Once you are saved Eph 1:13 you are sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. The word sealed here is the same as the permanant seal affixed to a document (usually on a scroll) that would have to be broken in order to unroll the document and read it.
The Holy Spirit comforts us and helps our memory; John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Luke 12[12] For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say. (learn to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit)
There are many ways that the Holy Spirit works in the lives of Christians, but they all share one common goal: to make us more like Jesus Christ. He works in believers by renewing our minds to be like the mind of Christ. He does this by convicting us of sin and leading us to repentance.
Galatians 5:22-23 informs us: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
The Spirit of God gives us freedom 2Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
The Holy Spirit gives joy (Neh 8:10 The joy of the LORD is your strength.) ,peace and hope. Roman 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Romans 8:27 The Holy Spirit helps us pray he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
(The Holy Spirit Gives Power) Acts 1:8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
